Code of Honor Violation On October 17th, 2015, during my regular chemistry lecture I made a mistake of violating the University of Texas at Arlington’s Integrity Code of Honor through taking an impulsive step of submitting another student quiz during his absence in the class. In this reflective essay I will answer all the question asked by the Office of Student conduct in each paragraphs respectively. This includes: the factors and the consequences of my inappropriate behavior, self-realization during the student conduct process, and providing assurance for rebuilding the integrity expected out of every student. When I entered the class on Thursday, I had no idea that I would end up in trouble by making unintended mistake of cheating. After the lecture, our chemistry professor decided to provide a surprise quiz as mentioned in the syllabus during the last 20 minutes of the class. I was completely prepared for the quiz because the quiz was over the topic discussed in that particular class. The person I submitted the another quiz for, was also present in the same lecture but, he left the lecture in between, precisely 25-30 minutes before the lecture ended. Moreover, the quiz was open notes, textbook and discussion with your fellow classmates. In order to help him I wrote the quiz solution for him last minute and impulsively without giving second thought I turned his quiz too.
